Custom CNC machining
7050 Aluminum CNC Machining
We machine custom components specified in 7050 aluminum. Before we quote, we review the material standard and temper, part geometry, tolerances, inspection requirements, and documentation expectations. This early review surfaces the risks that matter most on a high-value part: material availability, machining distortion, corrosion protection, and traceability.
Send us your drawing and complete material requirements. We will assess whether the project fits our machining capabilities and confirm which material and quality requirements we can support before production proceeds.
7050 Aluminum Parts Made to Your Drawing
7050 is a high-strength aluminum alloy used where mechanical properties and weight both matter. For a machined component, the alloy designation alone does not establish suitability. Product form, temper, governing material specification, dimensions, and service conditions all affect the manufacturing plan.
We review those details alongside the part design, so the process plan reflects what the component actually needs.
CNC milling
25 three-axis machining centers, one four-axis machining center, and eight machines listed in our equipment inventory as five-axis.
CNC turning
43 CNC lathes, including gang-type machines for turned production work.
Turn-mill machining
15 machines for parts that combine turned and milled features in one component.
Swiss-type machining
10 Swiss-type lathes across the listed machine configurations.
Dimensional inspection
CMM, optical measuring systems, height instruments, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Our equipment inventory lists precision figures by machine category, but these are not a guarantee of a finished part's tolerance. We evaluate each drawing, feature, datum scheme, and inspection method to determine whether its requirements are appropriate for the specific project.
Our 7050 Machining Review
Material cost and part value make process planning especially important. We work through the following points before we confirm a manufacturing approach.
Material specification and temper
We need the complete material callout, not only "7050 aluminum." Please identify the governing specification, temper, product form, and any supplementary requirements. Material supply and documentation are verified for each project. If you plan to supply the stock, tell us which documents and identification must accompany it.
Part size, geometry, and tolerances
We assess overall dimensions, wall thicknesses, pockets, holes, threads, datums, and tolerance relationships. Please flag tight positional, concentricity, flatness, or profile requirements. A general tolerance note may not fully describe the functional needs of a precision assembly.
Material removal and clamping can affect dimensional stability, particularly on thin-walled parts, uneven stock removal, or tightly controlled relationships between features. We review the geometry and tolerance scheme to identify potential risk, then plan the machining sequence and workholding accordingly.
Where the design allows, balanced material removal, suitable stock allowance, and staged machining can help manage movement. The right plan depends on the drawing, material condition, and required inspection, not on a blanket tolerance promise.
Corrosion behavior depends on the material specification, temper, service environment, and any surface treatment. If the component will see moisture, chemicals, or other demanding conditions, include those application details and the required finish in your inquiry.
We review requested surface or corrosion-protection requirements for project fit. Any coating, anodizing, or other finishing process must be confirmed for availability, compatibility, and documentation before it is included in a quotation.
Our inspection resources include a coordinate measuring machine, optical measuring systems, height measuring instruments, a concentricity instrument, a surface roughness tester, hardness testing equipment, and dimensional gauges. Drawing requirements determine what needs verification and which measurement methods are appropriate.
List any required inspection reports, material records, traceability details, or customer-specific documents with your RFQ. We will confirm whether those requirements can be met and agree on the deliverables before production.
Is 7050 Aluminum CNC Machining a Fit for Your Project?
Our service may suit your project if you need custom milled, turned, or turn-milled components and can provide a defined material specification, drawing, and inspection requirements. It can also be appropriate for prototype, repeat-order, or production work, subject to project review and confirmed material supply.
If the required material or documentation cannot be verified, we will resolve that point before production commitment. A nominal alloy designation alone does not confirm that a stock source, temper, or record package meets your requirements.
A manufacturing review is particularly important when:
- The part has thin sections, deep pockets, or substantial material removal.
- Multiple features must remain aligned within tight tolerances.
- The material is costly or difficult to replace.
- A specific temper, product form, or material standard is mandatory.
- The component requires documented lot traceability or customer-specific inspection records.
- The service environment makes corrosion protection a design requirement.
Aerospace and Regulated Projects
Our quality management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100D, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949, within the valid scope of each certification. Those certifications do not, on their own, confirm aerospace supplier approval, customer qualification, or suitability for a specific regulated application.
For aerospace or other controlled supply chains, please provide the applicable material and process specifications, revision levels, traceability rules, inspection documentation, and supplier-approval requirements. We will review those requirements and confirm what falls within our scope before we proceed.
