Material machining

Magnesium

Lightweight magnesium components call for thoughtful process planning and careful inspection. At YJCNC, we provide custom CNC milling, turning, and turn-mill machining based on your drawings, tolerances, and project requirements.

Material considerations

Plan the process around the part

Magnesium is often selected where low component weight is important. The best machining route depends on the specific alloy, part geometry, required finish, dimensional tolerances, and intended application. We work with customer drawings and specifications to review these factors before production.

01 / Geometry

Part features

Consider walls, pockets, holes, threads, and datum features when selecting setups and machining operations.

02 / Requirements

Fit and finish

Drawing tolerances, mating interfaces, surface requirements, and inspection needs help shape the production plan.

03 / Handling

Controlled machining

Magnesium machining requires appropriate process controls and material handling. Project-specific requirements are reviewed before work begins.

CNC capabilities

Machining options for custom components

YJCNC’s manufacturing capabilities include CNC milling, CNC turning, turn-mill machining, and Swiss-type machining. The appropriate process depends on part design, dimensions, order requirements, and technical specifications.

CNC milling

For prismatic parts, mounting features, housings, and multi-sided geometries.

CNC turning

For rotational components such as shafts, sleeves, bushings, and threaded parts.

Turn-mill machining

For components combining turned forms with milled features.

Swiss-type machining

For suitable small or slender precision components, subject to part requirements.

Quality and verification

Inspection aligned to your drawing

Quality management is integrated into YJCNC’s manufacturing operations. Our quality systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100D, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949. Inspection planning and verification are considered in relation to the part’s specified dimensions and project requirements.

Dimensional measurement

CMM, optical measuring systems, height instruments, calipers, and micrometers support dimensional checks.

Feature-specific gauges

Thread gauges, pin gauges, and other precision gauges support inspection of specified features.

Surface and material checks

Available equipment includes surface roughness, hardness, and coating thickness testers.

Project-based requirements

Inspection scope can be reviewed with your drawings, acceptance criteria, and documentation needs.
