Nylon PA66 CNC Machining for Custom Parts
We machine custom components to your drawings and specifications, including engineering plastic parts where the material and part requirements are confirmed for the project. If you are sourcing PA66 components that need stiffness, wear resistance, or dependable mechanical performance, we review the grade, geometry, and working conditions before we recommend a machining approach.
Send us your PA66 material grade, drawing, quantity, and actual operating environment. This gives us the basis to assess manufacturability, dimensional risks, inspection needs, and quotation requirements.

Start with the PA66 grade and part requirements
PA66 machining results depend on more than the polymer name. Unfilled and reinforced grades can behave differently during cutting and in service. Moisture exposure, wall thickness, feature layout, and part dimensions also affect stability and fit.
We do not assume that one PA66 grade or machining method suits every application. If the material specification is incomplete, we tell you which information is needed to make a useful project assessment.
Before quoting, we review
- Whether the material is unfilled or reinforced, and the specified grade
- Part dimensions, tolerances, and critical mating features
- Wall thickness, long unsupported sections, holes, and threaded features
- Expected moisture exposure and operating temperature
- Surface and edge requirements, inspection needs, and order quantity
CNC processes for custom PA66 components
We select the process according to part geometry and project requirements, rather than treating every plastic component as a standard job. Our equipment covers milling, turning, turn-mill machining, and Swiss-type machining.
| Process capability | Equipment listed | Typical part features | Listed equipment precision* |
|---|---|---|---|
| CNC milling | 25 3-axis centers, 1 4-axis center, 8 5-axis CNC machines | Housings, brackets, plates, pockets, multi-sided features | ±0.01 mm |
| CNC turning | 43 CNC lathes | Shafts, sleeves, bushings, turned profiles | ±0.01 mm |
| Automatic turning | 30 automatic lathes | Pins and small turned components | ±0.02 mm |
| Turn-mill machining | 15 turn-mill machines | Parts combining turned and milled features | ±0.01 mm |
| Swiss-type machining | 10 Swiss-type lathes across listed configurations | Small-diameter or slender components | ±0.01 mm |
*These figures are listed equipment precision, not a guaranteed tolerance for a finished PA66 part. Achievable part tolerances depend on material grade, geometry, dimensions, machining sequence, and inspection requirements. We confirm tolerance feasibility during drawing review.
Managing dimensions, fit, and thin-wall features
PA66 can change dimension with moisture absorption and environmental conditions. We base machining and inspection decisions on how the part will be stored, measured, assembled, and used, not only on its nominal dimensions.
Expand each topic to see how we typically evaluate it during project review.
Inspection planned around the drawing
We use drawing-based inspection requirements to decide which features need verification and which equipment is appropriate. For PA66 projects, inspection plans account for the part's material condition and critical assembly features.
3D inspection
Coordinate measuring machine for dimensional and geometric inspection
Profile checks
Optical measuring systems for profiles, hole positions, and dimensions
Height and gauges
Height measuring instruments, height gauges, and precision gauges
Manual checks
Micrometers and digital calipers for dimensional verification
Surface finish
Surface roughness tester for specified surface requirements
Our quality management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100D, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949. Applicability depends on the project and certification scope, and we confirm this during quotation.
Is PA66 suitable for your part?
PA66 may be a candidate when a component needs a combination of mechanical performance and wear resistance, but suitability depends on the exact grade and service environment.
We assess the application rather than making a blanket comparison with PA6 or other materials. If your application involves significant moisture, temperature variation, or a tightly controlled fit, include those conditions with your RFQ.
| Project condition | What we review |
|---|---|
| High stiffness or load-bearing features | Grade specification, reinforcement, geometry, and expected loads |
| Sliding or contacting surfaces | Contact conditions, wear expectations, finish requirements, and lubrication if applicable |
| Moisture exposure | Service environment, dimensional allowances, and fit requirements |
| Thin walls or complex pockets | Risk of movement, clamping approach, and feature sequence |
| Close assembly fit | Critical dimensions, mating-part information, and measurement conditions |
| Repeat orders | Drawing revision, material specification, inspection requirements, and order quantity |
Production support from prototype review to repeat orders
We support prototype development, repeat orders, and production runs subject to project requirements. Engineering communication helps us identify drawing questions before they become manufacturing or assembly problems.
-
1
Prototype review
Drawing and material review, process selection, and tolerance feasibility before cutting begins.
-
2
Agreed inspection plan
Critical features, measurement conditions, and documentation are defined and approved.
-
3
Production and repeat orders
Repeat runs use the same grade, drawing revision, and inspection criteria for consistent batches.
